In 1928, The first Chip & T cartoon, "Fool's Gold", was debuted. It was the first DZT cartoon with sound, and the cartoon made good use of sound. It added in explosion sounds, screaming, chewing, and even a small mining musical! The team of Chip & T was a tandem worker team. Chip messed up, and T would pay for it in pain. T would try to get revenge, but T would ultimately fail. The crowd loved it! Chip & T was a success! The highest honor was it winning the first ever Special Class Oscar for Animation. Finally, DZT had made a name for themselves! However, the character Mickey Mouse was becoming more and more popular. And Warner Bros. had just debuted the character Bosko. Chip & T had eight more cartoons together, such as "The In-Maid" (1929. T & Chip become janitors at a prison), "Those Dam People" (1930. The team goes to work on a dam. The first DZT cartoon with talking), "The Hard Knock Life" (1931. Chip & T are door to door salesmen), and "You, Me, and a Baby" (1932. Chip and T babysit).
1930 hit, and the cartoons were still a success. People still loved Chip! However, T wasn't becoming an instant classic. Racial tension was still high in the 30s, and people weren't so keen on a black child being with a white man. (Even though Chip has a tail, and has never said that he was white.) DZT faced mounting pressure from racial groups, and even death threats from racial groups as high as the head of the KKK. Finally, Zigg and Stevens dropped T from the Chip cartoons. Chip continued to be a success even to the modern day while T was about to fade into obscurity. But DZT didn't just give up. What happened next was to make not just DZT history, but cartoon history as well.
It has been said in interviews that Zigg and Stevens were talking. Zigg had been sketching for a while, thinking of a new cartoon. Stevens walked in and saw Zigg drawing a tall man. He wore a vest, a fedora, and walked with black shoes with spats. He carried a cane whenever he walked. One distinctive feature the man had was a black mask and eyes with a lack of pupils. People has said that both Stevens and Zigg had a talk right after this.
Stevens: Zigg, who's that?
Zigg: Our next star.
Stevens: Oh really? Teaming him up with Chip?
Zigg: Nope.
Stevens: Oh really? So he's by himself? He got a girlfriend?
Zigg: No to both.
Stevens: *Confused* Then who's his partner?
Zigg: *Turning to Steven, he laughs. He then draws T next to him*
Stevens: T??? But...didn't we pull him?
Zigg: I'm not going down to some racist punks.
*Zigg colors in the new character, making him out as African American as well*
Stevens: I see...
Zigg: I call it..."trolling"...

These are great, and I have a few ideas that you might like. Maybe a WWII propaganda film where chip fights off his gremlin urges to dismantle an allies supply plane. And we could find a way to get Kenna and yumiko in the mix. Idk, i'll have to really think about these.
